Gary R. Hess' Experience:
XHTML - I have been doing XHTML for about a two years now, but before that time I worked with HTML for approximately 3 years.
CSS - I picked up CSS around the same time as HTML. It has proved to be a great addition to my designs.
PHP - I have been working with PHP and learning more everyday for approximately a year and a half. It was hard finding a cheap host which supports PHP or MySQL, but I have now found one and will no longer go back to other hosts.
As for poetry, I have been writing poems for about the same time, a little over four years. I really enjoy it, but sometimes lack inspiration. My proudest moments are when someone comments on how much they enjoy my writings.
