About Gary Hess (Cont.):
How I got interested in writing:
Well, I always somewhat liked to write. When my sister and I were younger, my parents bought her a typewriter and I would sit down and type a story of sort, generally less than a page, sometimes not even that.
Now I just evolved over the years and continue to write because
it's something I love. It helps keep my mind off certain events and also helps
me release my feelings on a broad range of subjects.
What I write about, and why:
I normally write about something related to how I feel at the particular time. Even if i write about something that does not deal with myself, I usually use the character's in the story to reflect myself. This is seen throughout my works.
My earliest work generally was about love, but also had one or two friendship poems. But over my writing "career" if you would call it that, I have started to write about other subjects such as hate, politics, enviroment as well as keeping true and writing about love. This is due to
my mood changes. When I feel that I am in love, I will write about that, and when I feel like something is going on in either this country or another that I don't agree with, I express it in my writing.
